Travel Info Im a 22 year old guy moving to Amsterdam this summer..my question really relates to the availability of work there. Im from UK so have no need to get a visa/work permit or anything so thats not a problem, I was just wondering how easy it is to get a fulltime job in a bar or youth hostel?? surely if I ask almost literally everywhere I'll be ok,no? does anyone know of anybody who has managed to do this successfully ? or is the competition just too great? it would be great if someone knew of a place that liked to hire expats, maybe somewhere run by British for example (but thats far from essential) ill be taking enough to live on for six months anyway, just in case I hit problems, but Id love to get a rough idea what chances i'v got, or hear some success stories! any Amsterdam vets out there able to give us any advice? Travel Tips Hi, I think you will not have many problems. Usually waiters change often and hence there are many oppenings. It might help to find Brits already there but coffee shops, bars, hotels, and other places rely on foreign workers. Also all Dutch speak almost perfect English and they like english people and culture so it is OK. I mentioned coffe shopps and bars, hotels, head shops etc because there the clientelle is mostly foreign and hence speaking dutch fluently is not so important or must have requirement.
