Travel Info I want to stay in a clean hotel in Midtown NYC for less than $200...any ideas? PLease......? Travel Tips I'd rather sleep in the subway than set foot in the Hotel Pennsylvania http://abclocal.go.com/wabc/story?sectio... (this isn't the first time - people have been reporting bed bugs there for years) The Belvedere in Times Square - extremely clean, very friendly staff and every room has a microwave, fridge and microwave. Rooms start at $160 - you may be able to negotiate a better price at PriceLine or Orbitz. The train and bus are on the corner and there are theatres on the same block. http://www.belvederehotelnyc.com/.......... A hotel, which is close to, but not in Times Square (it's a lovely residential area) is the Murray Hill Suites on East 39th Street (the main street in Times Square is West 42nd Street). Every room is a suite, has private showers, kitchen area with microwave, fridge, dishwasher, coffeemaker - you'll save money if you make your own breakfast and bring back your restaurant leftovers - and very reasonable rates. Read what other guests have to say - see if they will stay there again, and look at the photos they took (do the same for any hotel that you are considering). http://www.tripadvisor.com/hotel_review-... If you don't mind sharing the bathroom, The Gershwin Hotel is supposed to be the best of the budget hotels - The New York Times says it's spotless - it's in an excellent residential area - 27th Street off Fifth Avenue. They have very inexpensive rooms for two - some with bunk beds and shared bathrooms; the more expensive rooms have private bathrooms. There are many excellent restaurants and coffee shops nearby - close to buses and subway. If you click "Contact" they give you a phone number, a fax number and an email address. This sounds like an excellent deal for one day - (If you require a private bathroom, be sure to specify). http://www.gershwinhotel.com/english/sit... The Pod Hotel on East 51st Street http://www.pickwickarms.com/ Before you book any hotel, check Trip Advisor http://www.tripadvisor.com/ See what the previous guests think of the place - would they stay there again? Others hotel pennsilvania! (sp) its great and near timesquare, not to badly priced! i am sure u can google it Finding a hotel for under $200 in midtown is very very hard. Midtown hotels under $200 would be Portland Square, New York Inn, The Pod Hotel. As for quality of each, I am not sure but you could read reviews on tripadvisor.com. Perhaps, if you'd like to save money, you could stay at La Quinta in Long Island City Queens. It is located right next to the 7 train line and would get you into midtown in literally 10-15 minutes. Its also a reputable chain of hotels and they have specials for $99 a night. Check expedia.com, orbitz.com, venere.com, hotels.com etc you should go to that somthin wire .com i cant remeber the whole name of the adress but i hear they have really low prices. i think it starts with an h though. Depends on the time of year but you can definitely find something in your budget. Check out places like Hotel-Alternatives.com. http://www.hotel-alternatives.com... |
