Boston,Massachusetts? |
Travel Info i want to move there? what is it like? Travel Tips Boston is an amazing city! I grew up there! What kind of things did you want to know about it? The weather is erratic, long cold winters and hot, humid summers. The city is beautiful and very historic, there is so much to see and do there, lots of shows and plays, museums, parks, beaches... One of my favorite things to do in Boston is go to Fanuel Hall and go shopping and have clam chowda in a bread bowl. Red Sox games are a must too... Boston is a big sports city... Its also close to the mountains and you can go up to NH and camp and hike and ski or snowboard if you are into that sort of thing... Theres also a lot of lakes in the area that are great for spending your summers. There are a lot of job opportunities in the area, as well as a ton of great schools and hospitals. The traffic and congestion in the city kind of sucks because of the Big Dig, that seems will never end... Housing is kind of pricy, depending on what area you are n but it is still pretty affordable... I live in LA now and I miss the East Coast so much, I love Boston and New England and I love going back there to visit. Life is much more low key back there... Others It's a lot like other big cities, but less congested? It seems extremely laid back (nothing like the nyc atmosphere where you feel like if you were to get shot in the street, people would hate you for daring to make them walk around your body) The accents are fun, but know that Copley is like (cop-ley, not cope-ley) Stay around Copley if you want a rich atmosphere. It's easy-going and has high class shopping. Other parts of Boston, such as Faneuil Hall, tend to be more touristy but still worth checking out. It's a bit expensive (parking there is more than NYC!!!) but the atmosphere is friendlier and more open. I love Boston and hope you do also! It's always worth a visit and seems like a lovely place to live. |
