In Manhattan, there is really no cheap place to live, you could try Spanish Harlem or Harlem. Outside of Manhattan, you could try the Bronx for inexpensive apartments. Chances are there will be safety issues so if you are concerned about that get a smaller apartment in a working class neighborhood like Jackson Heights Queens. Monthly, about 1500-200 a month. Cheapest place to live in the city, depends on what kind of area you want to live, and how far you're willing to commute. You can get an apartment in the South Bronx for 800 a month, but most people wouldnt want to live there. |
