Pure-bred New Yorkers who hate foreigners? |
Travel Info I feel the need to get this off my chest. For New Yorkers BORN and RAISED, do you sometimes get irritated when you hear about people planning on moving here from other states or countries or is it just me? Call me arrogant, but I would never live in any other place other than New York (I believe I can't survive anywhere else) and it's overpopulated as it is. Do you think New York should close off its borders to everyone and anyone foreign born for a few years(but that i mean state and country)?. I live in Brooklyn and it's seriously getting harder and harder to live here with all these westerners moving in because people keep jacking the prices up. I understand it's a tourist location but COME ON. Stay in your home state. New York is diverse enough. Any one agree with me? Travel Tips No I don't care about the foreign people but I do care about the foreign companies . WTF is Disney doing in NYC ? OK the company's logo is a rat - a big f**k**g rat so in way that makes sense But it's a BF cute rat and as a native I know damned well that rat's that big are a lot of things but cute ain't one of them. And what's with all these mid-American box stores and these phony Seattle coffee stores . Why would you buy that foreign stuff when you can get the real thing anywhere in NYC ? And Trader Joe's ? Why would anybody in their right mind use Trader Joe's when the real thing in the form of Balducci's ,Dean & DeLucas , Zabars and thousands of authentic high quality grocery stores are available- how dumb is that ? Unbelievable , I just don't get it I really don't Others I understand the frustration (me being a londoner), but what can i say - globalisation is an outta control force. Unfortunately things are only gonna get worse two words...tough cookies! damn, things don't work like that in the US, baby...I'm a native of Los Angeles since 1955...I've seen alot of changes and population increase, too...and it's jammed our prices up so that most folks will never be able to own a home...but so what...that's life...adjust! i hope you die a horrible and painful death How many New Yorkers don't have a "foreigner" in the family tree within the last four generations? New York is the ultimate city of immigrants in the U.S. Check your family tree, and then come back and apologize. Belive me, I feel the same way. Except there are tons of illigal immigrants where I live (california). You'll just have to live with it or vent on the internet. Whatever suits you. So... you support YOUR right to freedom & liberty, but not anybody else's? If you don't like it, move! (That's exactly what all those others you are whining about have decided to do!) |
