How many cities are in the New York city metropolitan area? |
Travel Info How many cities are in the New York city metropolitan area? Travel Tips I can think of four offhand. There's New York City itself, Brooklyn, Glen Cove, and Long Beach. okay, this is a cheater's answer. Brooklyn is a city onto itself and is part of New York City too. Glen Cove and Long Beach are the only municipalities in Nassau County that can be called a city. Have no idea about Suffolk County, Westchester, New Jersey, etc. and am too lazy to look it up. Besides, like someone else mentioned, it depends on what you mean by the NYC metro area. Others A lot. :-) I don't know that there's any official list, since it would have to be based on what towns are considered a part of the greater NYC area or not, which is a subjective judgment. I mean, is a town 50 miles away from New York part of the metropolitan area? Most people would say yes. But what about 100 miles? I don't think there's a concensus on where that line should be drawn. However I'd say it includes the towns in Long Island, the 5 boroughs, the southeastern section of New York state, most if not all of NJ, northeastern Pennsylvania, and southern Connecticut. THERE ARE 5 BOROUGHS AND CITIES TOO MANY PROBABLY LIKE TWENTY EACH BOROUGH http://www.apartments.com/area.aspx?stat... KEEP CLICKING THE BOROUGHS NOT ALL OF THESE PLACES ARE NYC SOME ARE LONG ISLAND PARTS AND THESE CITIES ON THIS SITE ARE THE MAIN ONES EX: ELMHURST( THERE IS CORONA FORESTHILLS ) IN ELMHURST BUT THOSE THREE ARE ALL DIFFERENT CITIES BUT ELMHURST IS MAIN SO YOU NEVER KNOW HTTP://NYC.GOV OR GO TO NYC HIGHSCHOOL WEBSITE THERE THEY TELL YOU EVERYSCHOOL AND THERE CITIES |
