Im looking for a fun escape weekend in Long Island.? |
Travel Info Im in the city for too long and need to get away without actually having to fly anywhere. Im looking for somewhere I can go for a weekend with my boyf thats on the beach, with stuff to do during the day and beach bars at night. Also somewhere near to the LIRR and if you know of anywhere to stay please let me know, we're trying to keep it cheap tough. Been looking online but I haven't a clue where would suit us. Please help, the city is killling me!!!! Travel Tips If your set on the beach, I would recommend staying for the weekend in Ocean Beach, a town on Fire Island. Its not to far out, its pretty, its quaint, great beach, no cars (a plus to me). You can park at several points in southern long island and take the ferry. Or you can take the LIRR to the Ferry. There are a few small inns in that town. If you are looking to save some money, you can get an early start and just make it a day trip. If you are not set on the beach my favorite place in long island is the wine vineyards in the north fork, just past Riverhead, after the end of the Long Island Expressway. You can find a lot of B&B's that don't cost too much, and the vineyards are generally free or nominal cost to taste and explore. There are about 2 dozen vineyards all right near each other.
