I live in staten island..i want to know how to get from the ferry to canal st...then to central park ?? |
Travel Info or i can use the ferry to central park with out stopping at canal st. please helpp Travel Tips Take the ferry to Manhattan. Exit the Ferry and cross the street and take the Uptown/Queens bound R train to Canal street. If you exit on Canal you will be in Chinatown The R also will take you to Central Park (5th ave station further uptown). Get yourself a subway map. Start exploring and have fun. Others See this is the problem when the government tries to bring suburbia into NYC....yeah. Either familiarize yourself with the MTA/mass transit, or move. EDIT: To the person far below me: I spent 14 out of my 15 years living in Queens. I moved to PA a few months ago. Never lived in Manhattan. First of all, Hannah H. needs to shut her trap. Who made you ambassador to Manhattan to tell people they need to learn the transit system or move? The problem is stuck-up Manhattan-ites like you (who are not even native to NYC) who think there is no world outside Manhattan. There are 5 boroughs in NYC, not 1 you stuck up b#tch. Regarding the question at hand, there's another option from Staten Island. You can also take the Xpress bus (X1) which runs on Hylan Boulevard to the city ($5). They are big coach buses too, not the crappy usual city buses. It takes you up Chambers St., past Canal. http://www.mta.info/nyct/bus/schedule/xp... The IRT #1 has its start right at the Manhattan side ferry terminal. You can take that to Canal Street (the cheap electronics, western part, not the Chinatown eastern part), and also take it to 59 Street/Columbus Circle, right at the beginning of Central Park. The next few stations (66, 72, 79, 86, 96 and 103 Streets) all stop a block or two west of the park, if you want something further uptown in Central Park. |
