Are there many racists in NY? |
Travel Info Are there many racists in NY? Travel Tips Umm, honey - the sad part is that there is racism everywhere - even in NY. I have been living in NYC for soo many years and have never been target of racism, however, my husband has been victim to it. It all depends...not everyone is going to like you or accept you. As long as you are comfortable in your skin...people will have to accept and appreciate who you are. Others All depends on the area. I live in a small town upstate, and yes, there's a ton. Other areas, I'm not so sure. To be totally honest, it doesn't matter where you go because racism is everywhere. You can walk down one street and people will wow over you, or you can go down another and people will make racial statements. It really all depends on the individual, how they were raised, and what there beliefs are. I am from NY but anywhere else Ive gone Ive experienced the same things. It will be alright though NY is a nice city I promise. :P Im from NY personal experience I'm Sorry To Say, There Is NO PLACE ON EARTH That Does'nt Have Racism In One Form Or Another! Either You're Extremely Young, Or Extremely Naive. I Wished It Were Different, BUT IT'S NOT. Good Luck To You... Personal Images Of Life... With 8 million people NYC has everything to offer from 5 per centers to Nazis. I used to know a Brooklynite who was descended from one of the founders of the KKK, and I knew another who was related to the head of the A merican Nazi Party. The police annually record several hundred racial incidents. But NYC also has many people working against racism, and it generally is under control, not that this is much consolation for those victimized. |
