Travel time to the Bronx ZOO. Leaving from Times Square...which will take longer - Metro North or Subway? |
Travel Info Which will take longer - 20 minute Metro North train to Fordham stop plus walking to the Zoo OR just taking the subway up to the Bronx zoo stop. Leaving at 2pm today. Thanks! Travel Tips Take the train. It's a loooong walk from the Fordham Metro North stop. The #2 and #5 trains stop at the Bronx Zoo. The station stop is called East Tremont/West Farms Sq. No need to do all that transferring like the previous poster replied. The subways also run a lot more frequently on the weekends than the Metro-North. Also, on the Bronx Zoo website, they say this is the subway to take. Source(s): Bronx native Other Travel Tips Take the Metro North for time saving... Have Fun!!! That is a very long walk from the Fordham stop on Metro North. Allow 20 minutes or more just for the walk. Better to get the Fordham Road bus once you are at Fordham Road, but in that case I would take the IRT #1 or 9 from Times Square to 207 Street, and get the bus from there. That would be about 20-25 minutes of subway and 20 on the bus. Or get the D train at 42nd and 6th Avenue (which means a long one block walk east) to Fordham Road, and the bus from there. That might be a minute or two quicker. http://www.mta.info/nyct/ |
