What's the best way to get a good deal on last minute Broadway show tickets in NYC? |
Travel Info Is there such thing as tickets sold cheap at the last minute in case the show isn't sold out? If so, how do I get them? Travel Tips Go to TKTS (see http://www.tdf.org/tdf_servicepage.aspx?... ) for ~1/2 price tickets. The one in South Street Seaport is usually less crowded and has the same tickets available. Check out the times the booths are open to see which works better for your schedule. DO NOT buy tickets from scalpers near the TKTS booths, the tickets are usually fakes. :( You can also try the box office the day of the show. Often tickets are returned. Finally, you can wait in line right before the show in the hopes tickets will become available. Others Wait in line at the TKTS booth in Times Square. If you are interested in seeing RENT, i would suggest going to their box office to get 20 dollar rush tickets. I went a few weeks ago and got them! Heres what you do: Go to the box office 2 1/2 hours before the actual show. (5:30 for an 8pm show). You fill out your name and how many tickets you want (you can only get 2, so if its you and a friend, both of you should fill it out so you have a better chance of winning). Then you wait until 6pm and they pull the names out and you line up when they call your name. After they check your ID you pay 20 bucks per ticket and they are yours! 4 of us went and tried to win. We each put our names in and 3 of our names were chosen. We obviously only needed two names to be called so we put the other back. It was the best day of my life because the seats are FRONT ROW. No lie! Can you get a better deal? |
