Why isnt NYC the capital of NYS? |
Travel Info albany sucks Travel Tips Back in the early days of the nation, a large proportion of the state's population were farmers. Thus, state representatives thought it would be fair for everyone to have the state capital in the geographical center of the state. Other Travel Tips hey, its a good choice - at least now there is something there and besides, its already got the buildings and stuff.. Because. cuz it's too dirty and smelly. NYC has enough without being the capital. There are too many people and it's too crowded. Also Albany has a better location. It's on the Hudson, which was extremely important in the settlers' times. NYC was once the capital of the United States so it couldn't have been capital of NYS as well. because nyc is so big and has a big population they wanted more ppl to go up state to albany were there is nothing but farms but obiosly the plan to populate northern ny hasnt really worked |
