How much money is enough to live comfortable in a big expensive city like DC or NYC or Hong Kong or Sydney? |
Travel Info Looking at moving and taking a job in a big city..I have always want to live in a city..but I know it cost a lot of money...i want to live big like they do on TV...what kind of salary would i need...how do you all survive in these place... Thanks.... Travel Tips Depends completely on your lifestyle. DO u want to share apartment, apartment to yourself, do u want to party eveyweekend etc... need more info. Ballpark min i would reckon $100k p.a. for NYC and thats prob not enough for my lifestyle Others to do the things that u see on t.v is not real, the only thing that is real to live big like that and in those big citys is to have contct with big and beautiful people which are real rich and prob snobs all of them..... but i have a dream like urs so who knows u should follow it,,, goodluck I just got back from LA. A 1 bedroom apartment, 700-800 sq ft (tiny) averaged $1200-$1500 no utilities except water and gas. A1200 sq. ft home went for around 500,000. Gas was $3.69 gal. A damn trailer in a trailer park was going for 250,000 (Huntington Beach area so yeah, not the cheapest place). I would say to live like you want, minimum 200,000. I wouldn't go to any of those places without a job that pays at least 80,000. My tastes aren't all that expensive. I even checked out Watts area and homes there went for 250,000 and up. Nothing special either. New York is worse. I checked there too. We all want to live like that kid. If you want to be like Lindsey Lohan, or one of those bratty little shits, 1 - 2 mil per year. A one bedroom apt in a nice area of DC is $1800 a month. In NYC it is more. |
