Travel Tips VERY comfortable shoes...and see how the weather is going to be, because it always seems to be a little warmer in the city than the surrounding areas. The best thing about the city is that you sort of fit in no matter what you're wearing...if you plan on going to a really nice restaurant, of course you'd want to look into dress codes, but otherwise you'll be set in shorts and t-shirt with some sneaks. Others Dress regular with comfortable shoes. Yep! Wear anything that is comfortable to you. walk around with a boston red sox shirt and hat. they love that in new york! yeh cuz they'll know ur a tourist then and u'll b comfortable A few have touched on this, but I want to reiterate.... COMFORTABLE SHOES!!! You will be on your feet probably 12 or more hours during the day, walking or standing nonstop on tilted sidewalks, subway grates, potholed and cobblestone streets, depending on the part of town. COMFORTABLE SHOES!!! :-) Yes, comfortable shoes are a most. Jeans are just fine, but I'd avoid wearing shorts. Not only do they brand you as a tourist, but you do NOT want to sit down on the subway while wearing them. |
