What is the best thing to do in NYC over 4th of July?

In NYC from July 4 - 8. Any suggestions - something other than regular tourist sites. I've seen those!

Gonna be crazy, but the fireworks is a must. Just wander down to east river or the hudson.
also try www.nycvisit.com. They have schedules of events. Its NYC. There is always something going on.
