How do you get to Jones Beach by bus?

I live in Woodside, NY, and I want to get to Jones Beach. I read online that the buses that get there are N87 and N88 but how do I reach these buses by like subway or something? Also, the LIRR is pretty expensive so I don't want to ride that, is there any other way of getting to Jones Beach?

you should just go to Long beach on the LIRR. It's $6.25 and then you can trade your train ticket for a beach pass at the train station for free!!

I only know of going by the train...you'd get off at the Freeport station...it would probably only be about $5 or $10 if you're coming from Woodside (Round-trip), and the bus is $2. If you were to drive to Jones it would cost you $8 just to park, so it's not a huge difference.
