Hi! I'm italian, and will be for the first time in NYC next saturday.? |
Travel Info But i'll have only a few hours to visit it. What about renting a moped or a scooter to go around without cabs or buses or so on? Do you have any suggestion about it? Any experience? Travel Tips If you like moped or scooter, I would suggest the NYC bike routes. They have different guided and un-guided tours of NYC. It's fun, inexpensive, plus they will give you routes that are safe to bike. You can bike through Brooklyn bridge, the south seaport, and ground zero. It's fun! When you get out of Brooklyn Bridge, in Brooklyn you can get the best Pizza at Grimaldi's! (the only coal fire oven in the area, illegal in Manhattan!) When you are in NYC off the bridge, you will be next to China town and Little Italy. It will be so fun to grab a bite there! Food is amazing. You will be get to see City Hall and other judiciary buildings also! http://www.bikenewyork.org/ Others I don't think anyone rents scooters or mopeds. Stick to public transport around here and leave plenty of time to get back to the airport. have a good time-lol. I don't think you can rent a moped or scooter. Plus you have a great chance of being hit by a crazy driver. Try the bus or they have double decker tour buses that hit all the major tourist attractions. Best of luck Wouldn't get a scooter or moped. Public Trans is just as fast and much cheaper. Figure out where you want to go and just go. I would not recommend that anyone not familiar with NYC try driving in NYC on a one day visit any more that I would recommend that an American try to drive in Naples on his first day there. Of course, I have been to Naples and I am not sure that I would ever be ready to drive in Naples. Bonjourno! America is very different that Italy in terms of transportation and can be just as confusing. Everyone posted previously are correct....use the public transportation system (subway) while you are in New York since you will not be here very long and it is your first time. Be sure to visit Mulberry Street and see the last remanant of Little Italy in New York. |
