Washington heights dangerous around the harlem river drive? |
Travel Info I've been living in the lower Manhattan all my life and now moving to the upper manhattan across from the Harlem river drive near 155st. I'm not quite familiar with the neighborhood. im wondering if you guys can give me your opinion about the area or the neighborhood. o btw would living on the first floor better or not with safety bars on all windows. thanks! Travel Tips Thats an iffy neighborhood...i mean on the plus side many families are being raised there and the influx of new residents is helping stabilize it more and more downside is that its still a notorious spot for drugs as well as gang holdouts. But crime can hit you anywhere, it all matters on how aware you are of whats going on and how fast you can get your way out of a situation Source(s): native Other Travel Tips There have been murders up there recently. If you have the money, you can buy a condo in Harlem for $Two Million ($2 million) $400,000,000. Harlem is spruced up, very spiffy. They have restaurants, Starbucks, Department Stores Barnes & Noble, it's looks like mid-town NYC! That is actually Harlem and it is pretty dangerous in that area. Edit: draydaze I was born and raised in the Bronx and have lived in the Bronx my whole life when I say that is a dangerous neighborhood it's pretty much the truth. People who say it's dangerous only see what's on the news. I live at 149th and River Drive and the area has changed quite a bit. Of course like anywhere you have to be smart but it's a growing area of people of all race. |
