A holiday weekend in the summer time is actually not too bad in NYC. Many people travel out of the city for the Holiday leaving some extra room for the Tourists to sight see and get around.

There are usually tons of events at South Street Seaport and Central park... concerts and street performers. It is great because most are free or very inexpensive.

There are tons of Plays and things like that where you need tickets. These might be hard to come bye for a holiday weekend.

Yes, just got back from a 4 night stay. Had a wonderful time and would definitely go back. We did the 48-hour loop tour with Grayline, which got our feet wet and helped us get familiar with the City.

The best way to see the City, however, is to get out and walk. Visit the neighborhoods, eat where the locals eat, get out of Times Square.

I was under the impression that New Yorkers were rude, but after my visit, I realize that is not the case. One New Yorker saw me reading the subway map and asked if she could help. She gave us great directions and good advice. We were looking for Grimaldi's in Brooklyn and we asked a man who kindly walked us to the pizza shop.

All in all, I enjoyed my visit much more than I thought I would and would love to go back. So much to do and so much to see.
Just visited NYC myself for the first time.
