Do I really want to move to NYC? |
Travel Info I've been thinking about moving to New York City and winging it, staying with a friend and setting it up from there, but it's like. Maybe I'm ignorant to the fact that it's way to expensive? Or maybe I'm ignorant to the fact that it's really hard to find a job there? Travel Tips Well = yes to both. It is very expensive and a job good enough to pay to stay there is hard to find. Staying with a friend works for a week and at best two before you must be paying part and the resentment starts. NYC is hard to do but worth it as it is actually all that and a whole case of chips. If it were up to me I would live there forever, but they want me to work and I just don't do work. Not my thing so I visit often. So - if you love big cities and can take the pressure, go - stay with your friend - and try it out. Others yeah... its tricky... indeed. if u really want to move here, set up a goal, save money and work your way up. depends on how much you want to. I have same feelings and thoughts like you. It all depends what you want in life. NYC is cool to live and lots of things to do at all times, but money will be tight and you will probably never can afford to buy a house. Also, You may never get a job that you like. So if you can live life without any luxury then you should be fine in NYC. I am sure you can make it as long as you make abouve $2500 per month living in Manhattan. For me, I am still debating with little luxury and freedom of liking my job. http://dailygotham.com/blog/daniel_mills... |
