Where in Manhattan can I find a good selection of French Music?

Travel Info
Hello out there. I should be in Manhattan tomorrow. I'm interested in getting some cd's in french and possibly some sheet music. What stores have good selections for this? Thanks in advance to all who answer with good advice.

Travel Tips
If you are near Rockefeller Center, stop in to the Libararie de France, probably the best French bookstore in the US - I don't think they carry music, but, they will be able to tell you where to go. They are on the Rockefeller Center Promenade at 610 Fifth Avenue between 49th and 50th - phone number [212] 581-8810

Contact someone at the New York Sheet Music Society and ask them your question

Try the Julliard School Bookstore at Lincoln Center on 66th between Broadway and Amsterdam, [212] 799-5000, ext. 237

Sam Ash (there used to be a Sam Ash in Brooklyn and I used to go there with my mother - she was still giving piano lessons when I was a child - I loved that store) at 160 West 48th Street [212] 719-2299

Joseph Patelson's Music, 160 West 56th Street, [212]582-5840

Good luck!

If you are insterested in Sheet music, you can go to several places. These are places where professional musicians or music students usually aquire their stuff. Call them before you go, make sure they have the music you want, and they will put it on hold for you.

Sam Ash Music

Sells lots of sheet music and recordings from different genre.

Joseph Patelson Music House

Sells mostly classical music stuff.

160 W 56th St, New York, NY

They both sell some French music. Hope this helps!

Don't go to Juilliard Book store, they are currently under construction! (plus it's very small!)
