Traveling to New York in November? |
Travel Info I have never been to the US before however am planning a holiday in November and would love to see New York. I think I will spend about a month in New York and Boston. Is November a good time of year to go? I know it will be cold but will the weather be so awful its not worth going at all? Travel Tips We don't get snow too often in November, and sometimes winter arrives very late and the weather can be beautiful - light jackets or sweatshirts - don't need a coat yet. You will miss the changing of the leaves - that's over by November. The Christmas shopping (and the sales and crowds) will have started. You should like Thanksgiving (always celebrated on the third Thursday in November) - the Macy's Parade is very popular (more fun is to stand outside, sometimes in awful weather) the night before and watch them prepare the balloons, floats, etc for the parade), Our Election Day is the first Tuesday in November - that should be good for a laugh. Have a great time. Others New York is beautiful in november. Plan on taking the trip to Rockefeller center for the tree lighting. Also, except for that, there arent as many tourists, so its easier to get around. Have a safe and happy trip. november has nice weather... brisk clear cool air..sunshine maybe a few days of rain. last year it was unusually warm.( almost like september) new york city is gearing up for the holidays by thanksgiving..and that always makes it look especially nice. you will fall in love with manhattan. I live in NYC and i love it year round. If I was yourself comming from out of country, I would not come around november time, it probably not snow that time of year (although it does depend) but the changing of the leaves might be nice. Its just that it will be chilly if not very cold and you probably want to go sightseing and the best time would be in the summer like july that was everything is in bloom, and there are many venders on the street selling things, and more hotdog an pretzel venders are on the streets also, not to mention its eaiser to walk around. But if thats what you want, Nyc is the best place anytime of the year, Just from a fellow nyc resident, I wouldnt choose that time to come if I was out of country and it was my first time coming to nyc because you might not be impressded as much as if you were going in a warm month It can be cold, but anytime in NY is great! Have fun! |
