Subway from battery pk to coney islnd ? |
Travel Info can you catch a subway in battery park to take to coney island? Travel Tips You'll have to transfer (free). You can take the #4 or 5 train to Atlantic Avenue and transfer to the Q train - take that to Stillwell Avenue (that's the last stop), or, if it's a weekday, you can take the B (the B is an express - if it comes first, I suggest you take it - you don't want to spend any more time in the hot station than is necessary) take the B to Sheepshead Bay and wait there for the Q - Sheepshead Bay Station is elevated, out of doors and won't get too hot - also, you just stand on the same platform for the Q, no extra walking involved. If you board the R at Battery Park, take that to Pacific Street (same station as Atlantic Avenue - except that section is called Pacific Street and there is more walking to tranfer to the Q train) - the Q and B trains, out of doors, passes through a neighborhood called Kensington (really lovely old Victorian homes -) - the train is out of doors through Kensington - not elevated, the elevated train passes through Midwood, Gravesend, Sheepshead Bay, Brighton Beach and, finally, Coney Island. If you go back to Manhattan with the D train, you'll pass through Bensonhurst and Boro Park outside. Have fun. Others There is no direct service, you will have to transfer between lines. Use http://www.hopstop.com to plan your route. Go From 'Bowling Green' to Court street / boro hall a nd then take D route to Coney Island Brooklyn. Yes and no...take the 4 train to atlantic ave in brooklyn, and transfer to the q and take it all the way to the end. |
