Any ideas for a decent but affordable last minute hotel in Times Square area or Madison Square??? |
Travel Info Or do you know where I can look online? I've already tried Hotels.Com. Also, would it be safe to just try and find a hotel when I get there next week?? Thanks Travel Tips Try the AppleCore group of hotels. There's a Red Roof Inn, Super 8, Comfort Inn, LaQuinta and Ramada. All of the rates are around $100 per night, which as you know is great for Manhattan. I don't think they use Hotels.com so they wouldn't have shown as available. They do have a booking website that I've attached. Also for a great location and great value check out the Chelsea Lodge. Great neighborhood and clean place. The hotel is half a block off of 8th Avenue and Madison Square Garden is on 8th, they're 10 blocks apart. The blocks are short, so it's only a 10 minute walk. Otherwise hop on the 8th Avenue subway at 23rd and you'd be there in a few minutes or a quick $3 cab ride up 8th Avenue. It's near Maddison Square Garden and is great value. try this website www.LouMarTravel.com Hi, Have you been to NYC before, ?? You don't want to be having to look for something when you arrive, book something before you go, its really a must.... even if its the YMCA, which is great, clean and cheap and at least you have an address to get the cab too. yes cab, don't get the bus. It will be a nightmare, believe me, if you have nowhere to stay. We booked in at the Crown Plaza (not united nations) on 42nd and 3rd St. Real smart hotel, excellent location, within walking distance to everything. Type in Crown Plaza on google 42nd St, and it will give you all the details. Have an awesome trip, you will love it. Don't consider the Pennsylvania for one minute! http://www.observer.com/node/39264... http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=is... http://www.tripadvisor.com/showuserrevie... ALWAYS check what former guests think about hotels and would they stay there again - at tripadvisor.com I understand the Econolodge is Times Square is very clean; the rooms are very small, but it's in a great location and is very inexpensive and the former guests seem to be satisfied http://www.tripadvisor.com/showuserrevie... If you don't mind sharing a bathroom, see if there are any rooms available at The Pod - very clean, centrally located and inexpensive. http://pickwickarms.com/ Try priceline.com, expedia.com, orbitz.com, hotel.com, travelocity.com Good luck |
