Travel Tips Serenity is right about the approx. temperatures - the streets get icy and slippery in the winter, but some people think it's worth braving for the Macy's windows and Rockefeller Center tree. Summer can be unbearably muggy and is my least favorite time in NYC. I would suggest you visit either in spring or fall- both great times of year to see New York, with weather usually mild enough to enjoy the city on foot. New Yorkers walk a lot, it's a great way to see the city. Source(s): Lived here off and on for 20yrs Other Travel Tips During the winter it snows sometimes and is usually about 20-40 degrees F. In the summer it is hot around 80-105. It depends where you live. If you live in a hot place you should come in the winter. Oppisite for summer Winters can get very chilly, but if you come between Thanksgiving and Christmas you will see all the decorations, and it rarely snows then. NYC summers suck, with temps that can go over 100, and humidity out of sight--remember the city is on rivers and a harbor, with four of the five boroughs on islands. The best weather is May or October. |
