Travel Tips
We have that Stereotype that we are rude people....where in fact we are quite the opposite....maybe tourists feel they need to be the same way.
Also remember a lot of tourist are intimidated by this metropolis I call home....so i would cut them some slack.

We live a very stressful life in this city.....many people barely getting by to make ends meet....and normally New Yorkers tend to keep to themselves.....but if a tourist or someone happens to ask us a question on the street....we will always try to help you out.......don't be afraid to approach us....

NYC people are truly very friendly and helpful. I think not all tourists are rude. May be you met someone who was in a bad mood.
Its a place which makes people happy :)
Generally New Yorkers are nice people. They will give you advice/ information to see the best places there is to see.

Its working there day after day, it's what most New Yorkers find that is stressful .
I think you're onto something...I have certainly met rude NYers and wonderfully pleasant tourists, but people who aren't used to navigating New York can get very stressed out and demanding while there.
I think you're correct. For some reason, people who are very pleasant around their homes, even New Yorkers, can become quite nasty when travelling as tourists. Some sociologist no dount has a profound theory on this.
we new yorkers are lovely people.
yes we accuatly are but in borat they act like we are complete assholes not true nyc-ers lol are very nice and helpful but we might find tourist annoying because there are so many of them and they always wander and get in the way while we are rushing down the streets
