Hot Art shows and Museums to see in New York City...? |
Travel Info I will be heading out for a week long vacation in the big apple! Really excited! I would like to know if anyone has any recommendations for cool art shows and museums that I should visit while I'm out there.... I found this post on ArtCorner: http://blog.overstockart.com/summer-must... Would like to visit more then just the MoMA, Neu and Guggenheim... Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Travel Tips The Brooklyn Art Museum usually has some interesting exhibits. It's easy to get to -- there's a subway stop right there. Note: MOMA is free after 4:00 on Fridays. Note: Check the Guggenheim's web site. We've gone there a couple of times and found that they were in transition between major shows. They do have a permanent collection, but it is much smaller that the other museums. You might want to look at the web pages for the Whitney and the Frick Museums also. In fact, you can find the web pages of all the NYC Museums here: http://www.ny.com/museums/all.museums.ht... If you are really into art, you might also want to check out the gallerys in SoHo and Chelsey. One more thing, there is a lot of free art in the subway stations, so look for it.
