Are there any good holiday rental properties on the coast in and around newcastle?

I'd recommend Alnmouth in Northumberland to the north of Newcastle. The Northumberland coast is really great, a definite undiscovered part of Britain. I recommend a trip down to Druridge Bay. If you can't find accomodation in Almouth then try Amble or Warkworth if I remember rightly they are both nice little coastal towns.

Also, Alnwick is just inland and it's well worth a visit. It was voted best place in the UK to live a few years back.
