Can anyone tell me about Newcastle, UK?

Travel Info
Hey, just wondering if anyone could tell me about Newcastle, UK? Is it a good city to visit? A good city to live in?

Travel Tips
I was born and bred in the 'Toon' and without being too biased, I think it is one of the greatest cities on earth, especially for culture and nightlife!
I left home at 18 to seek my fortune in the 'bright lights' of London & although I enjoyed myself a lot & had a good social life, I pined for my Geordie homeland. It's true what they say - with no disrespect to my Southern friends - Northerners are the friendliest!
I lived all over the world (including NYC & Amsterdam) for 13 yrs until I finally took a massive salary drop to come back 'hyem' as I realised the Northern Lights were far brighter than those of the capital.
I'm loving being back!
Did you know Newcastle came 2nd (after Rio de Janeiro) in a top ten list of the World's best party cities?!
Get yerself doon the toon! It's a canny bag o tudor!
