Do you need a passport when staying at Niagara Falls on the Canada side? |
Travel Info My family wants to go there next week. Is a passport necessary? Travel Tips Yes. Current regulations state that you need a passport to cross the border at "major" border crossings and Niagara falls qualifies as this. The only other way is if you have a paper saying that you've applied for one but just haven't gotten it yet. This is currently a loophole and designed for those people that need to cross the border but haven't gotten their passport yet. So if you don't have one, get one now.yea it is me and my family went and we stayed on the US side cuz we didnt feel like doing all the passport stuff If your driving, NO!!!!! Only bring a state issue ID and a birth certificate. That's all I needed and I got into Canada and got back into the USA and that was last week. You only need a passport if you are flying but if you travel by boat and car, its ID and birth certificate until 2008. YOU DO NOT NEED A PASSPORT TO DRIVE TO CANADA UNTIL JANUARY 2008. YOU DO NEED A PASSPORT IF YOU F-L-Y TO CANADA. Right now you do not need a passport to drive into Canada but i have heard people have trouble trying to re enter the US without one If you're flying, yes; but not if you're taking any other method of transportation. You will need your birth certificate. |
