Going to Canada(Niagra Falls) for the 4th. What restaurants do you recommend? |
Travel Info We will be staying thru the weekend. I will be taking my children along. They can be fussy eaters. They would prefer Burger King, McDonalds or pizza. I would like atleast on good meal while I am there. Thanks for your help. Travel Tips I was there 3 days ago....and yes things are super expensive. The only reasonably priced place I've found was Flying Saucers restaurant on Lundy's Lane. You can google it and find directions from your lodging. If you are staying in lodgings near the falls, you will have to drive out there. The place is quirky and your children will like it. Food is plenty and you cannot beat those prices. Stay away from the restuarants near the falls if price is a factor to you. Others Mamma Mias at the top of Clifton Hill...Great Italian food...and fyi...theres a Burger King at the bottom of the hill...Have fun! The Keg, Swiss Chalet, or any of the hotels Right up the road, only a few miles is Niagara-on-the-lake.. a really quaint, pretty town to walk around and window shop; tons of flowers and a beautiful park for the kids to play in.. there are many nice restaurants here with a lot of character. The Angel Inn has Irish pub fair, as does The Irish harp.. both are reasonably priced and suitable for children. Then there is a nice Italian place, a wine bar/restaurant, a few family diners, a chinese restaurant... all within walking distance of each other... Hope you have a nice time Medium priced restaurant is Carpaccios on Lundy's Lane, excellent italian food, but whatever you do, do not go to Hard Rock Cafe downtown as it is atrocious, and expensive too. mic and Angelo's on lundys lane Bettys in Chippawa is a really nice place to go to if you want to get away from the tourist scene. It has great food and the prices are reasonable. Be aware, anything that's really close to the falls itself will be super expensive, and the quality of service is sometimes subpar due to the high volume of tourists. Driving away from the area is definately worth it. |
