How to plan a trip from chicago to toronto and niagara falls. what to see, stay and attraction-not to miss.? |
Travel Info We like to see Toronto and Niagara Falls. What are the things to see and do there. Any attractions we should not miss, and which tour to take? Travel Tips How about we exchange??? I want to go Chicago and want to know the fun things to do there!! I can give you a lot of detail about Niagara Falls. My most favourite attaction is the Maid of the Mist, it takes you around the brink of the Falls, you can see how big they are but when you are down below looking up it just blows you away, not to mention you can feel the water thundering under the boat (you get a bit soggy). There is also the Journey Behind the Falls, that takes you behind the falls in caves. There is a lot of cheesy stuff to do here as well, wax museums, Horror Houses, Ripley's 3-D theatres Clifton Hill houses most of this stuff. There are also alot of restuarants and bars on Clifton HIll nite life, is Rumours, Spicy Olive, Boston Pizza, Dragonfly. Tour wise the Niagara Parks offers a Discovery Pass, which will get you on the best things that Falls has, I think it something like 40 bucks and includes the peeople mover which will take you from one end of the parkway to the other and you can do everything at your own leisure. Personally as good as these tours sound by the people selling them you will see the same things on the discovery pass as you would with them for 100 dollat difference the only thing you are missing is the commentary of the bus driver. Not sure of the site but google Niagara Parks Commission for more info on that. There is a little bit of everythign here, if you have time we have a nice size wine region 20 miles from Niagara, you can actually pass it on your way to Toronto, it's Niagara on the Lake, it's in a class of it's own the old town. As for Toronto, it will have anything and everything you are looking for, think of it as a little New York City. Great shopping, night life, restaurants, you can see plays, google Ed Mirvish ( he owns most of the theatres there to see what is playing). Also the CN Tower one of the tallest free standing towers in the world used to be the tallest (but I think one in Hong Kong is taller now). You can catch a ball game. The Hockey Hall of Fame is downtown, you'll find a million things to do there. Every kind of cuisine going, they have a Chinatown, Little Italy, etc. Whatever you do I am sure you'll have a good time. P.S. Greztky has a restaurant there as well. Take care and have fun!!! Others The Canadian side of the falls is much nicer than the US side. There are boat tours of the falls (Maid of the Mist?) and there is an underground, behind the falls tour (I took it and was not very impressed although it is pretty cool). There are bus tours from Toronto or you can rent a car and take the Queens Expy towards Buffalo and you'll run right into it. The falls are actually pretty impressive. In Toronto: Harbour Front Center Island Beaches area ROM AGO In Niagara Falls: The Falls Cliffton Hill Street with all its attractions The wine county with all beautiful landscapes car trip on Niagara Parkway |
