Do I need a passport to travel to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls from the US? |
Travel Info Do I need a passport to travel to the Canadian side of Niagara Falls from the US? Travel Tips The law has not changed! You do NOT need a passport (I don't know why people keep giving wrong answers). You will, however, need: 1. Proof of your U.S. citizenship such as your U.S. passport (For information on obtaining a U.S. passport, check with one of the regional passport agencies located throughout the U.S.) or certified copy of your birth certificate issued by the city, county or state in the U.S. where you were born. If you are a naturalized U.S. citizen and do not have a passport, you should travel with your naturalization certificate. A driver鈥檚 license, voter鈥檚 registration card or Social Security card is NOT valid proof of citizenship. 2. Photo identification, such as a current, valid driver鈥檚 license. Other Travel Tips Not if you are Canadian or American You can still cross the border between Canada and America (if you are Canadian or American) with photo ID.... but in 2007 you will be required to have a passport (or other photo verified travel document). Not yet, but if you're going next year you will.... YAY for progress and peace on earth!! (you DO know that we are "breeding terrorists" in Canada, don't you?) didnt need to before but they change the law so answer is yes Right now all you need is a photo ID, but starting January 1, 2007 you will be REQUIRED to have apassport to reenter the USA. |
