Do I need paperwork to go to Niagara Falls, Canada? |
Travel Info I was born and raised in New York City and recently moved out to Buffalo and work in Niagara Falls, NY. I don't have my official papers (passport, birth certificate); It's back home. Can I take a quick drive over the rainbow bridge and look around and then come back with no problem? I just wanna visit for a few hours to check it all out...do I need some kind of paperwork to go over the bridge? Travel Tips You don't need a passport but you do need more than just a drivers licence. http://travel.state.gov/travel/tips/regi... Visas are not required for U.S. citizens entering Canada from the U.S. You will, however, need: 1. Proof of your U.S. citizenship such as your U.S. passport (For information on obtaining a U.S. passport, check with one of the regional passport agencies located throughout the U.S.) or certified copy of your birth certificate issued by the city, county or state in the U.S. where you were born. If you are a naturalized U.S. citizen and do not have a passport, you should travel with your naturalization certificate. A driver鈥檚 license, voter鈥檚 registration card or Social Security card is NOT valid proof of citizenship. 2. Photo identification, such as a current, valid driver鈥檚 license. All U.S. citizens entering Canada from a third country must have a valid passport. Others no just your drivers license next year i think you will need a pasport type deal... Nope!
