ENTRY/EXIT REQUIREMENTS: All persons entering Canada may be required to present proof of citizenship and identity. U.S. citizens are encouraged to show a U.S. passport. If they do not have a passport, they should be prepared to provide a government-issued photo ID (e.g. Driver鈥檚 License) and proof of U.S. citizenship such as a U.S. birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or U.S. passport.

not sure but I think bush has tried to pass a law that we will need a pass port in the future to go to Canada In sur all you need now is a id, but come OCT. I do not know the rule yet.
From where? If you are a US citizen, no just a valid license or state photo ID. If you are not a US citizen, then yes, plus whatever applicable visa's.
If you are going with family, and there are young children, you might however want to bring a copy of that childs birth certificate.
