Travel Info Whats best way to see canada? wanting to go for 3 weeks next year? Travel Tips If you want to know where to go it depends on how much money you want to shell out. Canada is huge and it costs a lot to travel because of the size. If you are on a tight budget I suggest the Toronto area so that you can see Niagara Falls and all of the other cool things there. If you have some money to spend I suggest going to Toronto but then heading west to the Rocky Mountains in Alberta and then heading west to Vancouver to complete your coast to coast tour. If you want to relax and explore nature then spend more time in the mountains, if you want to see the cities then spend more time in Toronto or Vancouver. Others goole maps !!! A mixture of car and train basically. Drivng in Canada is no problem at all - though it's a big big place. Canoe as well if you get the chance. This will need a bit of planning though. If you had longer - I'd suggest a big walk. Start at Newfoundland and take the ferry over to Prince Edward Island. Then take the ferry over to New Brunswick and detour through Nova Scotia. I highly recommend Quebec City but brush up on your French if you can. Lots of lovely churches and old historical houses full of charm. A warm, family-oriented city with culture and very affordable. The people are nice and polite. I suggest going to Baie Comeau and Chicoutimi, the birthplace of former Prime Minister Jean Chretien. Then head down to Montreal and instead of going to Toronto, go through Hull to Ottawa and see the sights there. Then I suggest a fly fishing vacation in Northern Saskatchewan. Just fly right out there. Then head back down to Thunder Bay after some camping, kayaking, waterskiing, fishing and canoeing. Fly out to Calgary and then rent a car to go through the Rockies and on to Vancouver. I suggest a stopover in Revelstoke and Vernon and then go to Vancouver and take a couple days to see Vancouver Island. You can really party it up in Banff. Canada is a BIG place! It depends if you want to wizz through and not see much, or if you want to do a little bit in more detail! It took me three weeks to travel around vancouver island and I could have still had longer! I guess you just need to decide what you really want to see/do and do your research, i'd recommend the lonley planet website! |
