Travel Info The wife and i are looking at flying out to Canada and then to hire a camper van to see the sights any ideas? Travel Tips I've done this trip before- it takes nearly a week to get from Toronto to Tofino (BC) if you're going at a manageable pace. I'd reccomend the East coast instead. It's great as far as sight-seeing and amazing scenery, but it's also a shorted distance. Go across the Confederation Bridge in PEI, check out the Bay of Fundy in NS, and visit old Quebec City. Make sure you leave yourself lots of time to relax and enjoy the places you're staying in. Have fun! Others I live in Toronto. There are certainly lots of places to rent mobile homes etc. and lots of campgrounds which accomodate them. Just remember that it is a very large country. From Toronto to Vancouver is 2500 miles and from Toronto the east coast is a 1000 miles. If you like to drive and have the time, great. Also those things are gas guzzlers. I live near Edmonton I go to Jasper &/or Banff at least once a year THEY ARE NOT TO BE MISSED you have this listed under Niagara Falls I still have not been out there but I hear it is beautiful How long are you travelling? There are so many things to see. Even flat Saskatchewan is interesting. ;) I recommend you see as many National Parks http://www.pc.gc.ca/progs/np-pn/index_e.... and World Heratige sites http://www.pc.gc.ca/progs/spm-whs/itm2-/... as possible. And if you can make it to Vancouver island you should go see Long Beach and Tofino. Make sure than if you are travelling in peak times that you make reservations at campegrounds (especially Long Beach/Pacific rim Park) http://www.canada.worldweb.com/... Made up of 10 distinct provinces and three unique territories, Canada offers a broad range of cultural and geographical features. The mighty Rocky Mountains and powerful pacific tides meet with vibrant communities in British Columbia, while urban flair mixes with cowboy culture in Alberta. Rural living comes alive under endless skies in Saskatchewan and Manitoba, while Ontario offers a diverse mix of big-city sophistication and relaxed country living. The sights and sounds of historic Quebec are not to be missed and the friendly fishing villages of Atlantic Canada are well worth the visit. Northern Canada offers visitors a chance to take in some of the only truly untamed landscapes in the world. No matter where you go in Canada you will see many beautiful sites and I hope you have a wonderful time. http://www.explore.canada.travel/ctc/ke/... Canada is huge. It depends on what time of year and what province. Here is a tourism website with a travel planner that may help: http://www.discovercanada.com/ Sounds like a good idea...do it in the summer though. You can hire vans from any big city. |
