Are there black museums and exhibits in Niagara Falls Canada and can I contact them on line? |
Travel Info Is there any black history I can visit, or participate in as I visit Niagara Falls, Canada in April 2007? Travel Tips There is a church in Niagara Falls That has a black history it is one of the oldest churches in Canada with a Black History. Sorry don' know the name of it. Others not really many black up in canada. but there is alot to do there. I work in Niagara Falls Canada and i can't think of any black history museums or exhibits. Not saying there aren't any I just can't think of any. There is Fort Erie which is has interesting histoical info to it which you can visit. If you go right across the water to Detorit Mich. they have a very large Black Museum, I'm not sure what the first guy means, really, but Canada is a very multi-cultural country, particularly in some of the major centres. I looked up "niagara: underground railroad" on google and found a couple sites. http://www.pc.gc.ca/canada/proj/cfc-ugrr... (this is parks canada) http://www.niagaraheritageguide.com/... (this says that there is an Underground Railroad heritage site in the works) There may be more sites. Most of what you will find will be about the Underground Railroad, which was a large part of Southern Ontario's heritage. I hope this helps a bit. |
