I'd like to live in Mexico for a few months. Can anyone tell me about the people. Are they friendly to americans. Is there an ex-pat community that you know or? Are there teaching or tourism jobs available there? Please help if you've been or heard 1st hand from residents or former residents. Tx

Oaxaca is beautiful. You'll love it. There is an expat community, but it's small relative to others. I lived in San Miguel de Allende for 10 years, and it's overrun with expats. I have heard that the community in Oaxaca is growing. Working is another issue. What will your legal status be? The people, all I can say is Mexicans are the most gracious people I've been around, and I'm pretty well traveled. |
