Travel Tips
I just was in Oaxaca city. Wonderful place. The protests weren't violent. We just got back on Sunday and had no problems. There were a few distractions, but even in the center where the protestors are, there wasn't any problem with the protestors. I know there has been some isolated incidents with Gringos, but we had no problem. We were two single girls traveling alone and felt safer there than Mexico City. I'd suggest spending some time on the beaches or in the small towns however. Its not as crazy. The biggest inconvenience was the municipal building was closed...but that wasn't a big deal. There still were quite a few gringo visitors in the area. Go, have a great time! |
