Is there any chance that there will be storm or hurricane in Orlando, FL?

Travel Info
Was there any hurricane attacked Orlando before?

Travel Tips
Yes... especially between April 1 and Dec 1

Others
oh yes...check out 2005's results. Hurricanes Charley, Frances,
Jeanne and Ivan all took a smack at Central Florida over a 6 week period. It was the worst year in history for hurricanes in Florida, exceeding the enormous impact Hurricane Andrew had on South Florida in1992, because so much more of the state was affected. The town of Punta Gorda was nearly wiped off the map.
Hurricane season is officially from June 1st to November 30th. Historically, North America has been struck by strong storms between mid-July and early-September, but not every year.

Hurricanes are a legitimate concern for anyone visiting the Atlantic or Gulf of Mexico coastal states during the summer. However, there is plenty of warning - unlike with avalanches, earthquakes, tornadoes, and tsunamis.

Purchase "trip cancellation insurance" if you plan a vacation to the southern American coast during Hurricane season. The insurance is cheap and protects you against financial losses if you have to change your plans due to something unexpected (not just Hurricanes). However, you do have to buy it in advance - can't wait until the storm already exists.

Travel agents and airlines sell trip cancellation insurance.

Well if in fact there are any hurricanes this year (which there most probably will be) you really wont feel them in oralndo I was there for a few hurricanes and they just get some heavy rain and some kinda strong wind...I live in South Florida and we get hit hard an thats where I go when they (hurricanes) come..

Good Luck~
The lady above doesnt know what she is talking about.

On Friday Aug 13th 2004.... Hurricane Charley came thru here like a bat out of hell. Know the destruction path was small but if you were in it ... it was intense.

Check out the pics below!
No power for a week + in most areas... lack of gas everywhere....Not to mention that it was HOTT with no A.C.

Well 2004 was an interesting time in Central Florida. We were hit by 3 hurricanes and people are some people are still struggling with their insurance companies. Also, some people forget that tornado's also have a devastating effect in the Central Florida area. This year the predictions are for another active hurricane season however no one knows where they will hit until they began to form. Hurricane Charlie was predicted to hit another part of Florida and then a few hours before it hit it wobbled and made a direct hit to the Central Florida area.
The second part of your question about the University of Florida is a good one. The University of Florida is a great place to study. They are also planning to open a medical school very soon so come on down. Don't let the hurricanes bother you.
