Disneyworld Florida, got a ....?

Travel Info
14 day unlimeted pass but also bought a pass for Universal Studios. Staying in a Waltdisney Hotel, how much will it cost for transportation to Universal Studios and back?

Travel Tips
Hi I have been to Orlando 10 times and stayed at Disney the 3rd year. It is hard to get between disney and elsewhere, for example Universal/ Shopping/ International drive on the public transport system.

The easiest way is to ask at the Hotel reception. They know which is the cheapest route. We once went to a dinner show in a limo as it was cheaper than a taxi, which sometimes charge you per person. Some of the hotels have an outside contract with a transportation company like mears and have their own desk. You book the time you want to leave and then call them 20 mins before you want to come home. It can take 20 mins to walk from the front of Universal or Islands of Adventure to the pick up point in the car park.

Forget the expense and enjoy yourself. If you require any more info on Disney or Universal just mail me and I'll let you know lots more.

Cheers,

Sarah.

there are free shuttle buses that run for 15 hours a day in between all disney parks.
There are free shuttles if they do not do them from your hotel walk down the road and jump on a bus
Well With Mears transportation it would be 16.00 per person no matter the age. You might be able to make it cheaper by getting a taxi but I doubt it.. I would either take a transfer or if you were going for more then just one day then you might think about renting a car for the couple of days that you are to be going over to universal...
try to find a univl. shuttle bus??
The Disney transportation system only takes you between Disney Resorts, Disney Parks, Downtown Disney, etc. Disney transportation only takes you to all thing Disney. You can't get a free shuttle at a Disney Resort to take you to Universal.
O.k , that being said, your best choice is to rent a car for a day or 2 at Walt Disney World (they have Alamo/National. The hotels at Downtown Disney area also offer car rentals (along Hotel Plaza Boulevard). I think they offer Hertz and Avis. You should use coupons and discount codes to get the best price.
If a car rental doesn't fit your needs (convenience vs price) you can use the Mears Shuttle.Mears offers scheduled, shared transportation between Disney and Universal. Their schedules might be inconvenient for you though - about $17 per person.
You can get a taxi. Taxis are easy to use but can cost you more than a car rental. - about $30 one way plus tip. So you are looking at $70 for round trip depending on traffic. Traffic on I-4 can get very congested.

Public transportation would be my last choice, Public buses do run between the two Parks but a transfer is required. It will take you a long time on Lynx (public bus system ) to get there but it is your cheapest alternative.
