If Walt Disney were alive today....? |
Travel Info How do you think he would feel about his theme parks? Travel Tips He would be very proud. Look at all the millions of people he has made happy, even if was just for a day... Others He would take one look at Orlando (Kissimmee really), puke and order it bulldozed and returned to nature. I live in Orlando. Really really hate disney because the moment those idiots see a tree they design a parking lot to put in right after they knock the tree down and burn it. They do not even put the trees to any good use. They just bulldoze and burn and pave. Creeps! I asked a similar question to this a few months ago. Personally, I think he would be somewhat pleased. The Magic Kingdom turned out like he wanted it to in my opinion. Epcot, however, is radically different than what Disney would've liked; I think the nearby town of Celebration, Florida most reflects what he would've wanted out of Epcot, but I think he would appreciate the futuristic technology and world culture evident at the park. I think he would like Disney-MGM Studios; I imagine he'd feel right at home in a movie-like atmosphere. I think Disney would really like Animal Kingdom; Disney really cared about animals and their preservation; I think he would want Dino-rama bulldozed, though, because the carnival-like games there are meant for town fairs and such, not to mention that guests are charged for each game. I find that especially tacky. Overall, I think he would be about 80% satisfied. Current Disney World cast member My friends (fellow Cast Members) and I always say "If Walt could actually see how his parks (at least in Orlando) are, he would be turning in his grave". Don't get me wrong I love anything Disney, but the magic just isn't there or isn't as much as it should be. Now all the executives care about is making money, they don't give a rats *** about the cast members, we are just a number to them if even that. And because of that cast members (not all) don't care as much about the park or the guests. It's a shame but true, may not be as evident to outsiders but once you work for the mouse it becomes more apparent. WDW CM |
