Unversal studio or disney for a toddler ????? |
Travel Info We want to take my two in half year old to ethier unversal or disney. We are already going to sea world. I had a friend that said that there is nothing for a toddler at disney and that unversal might be better. We will be there first week of sept. so hopefully it will not be so crowded. We will be there 7 days that is why we wanted to go somewhere besides seaworld Travel Tips Hands down Disney. Universal studios is geared for the older kids with mostly thrill rides. In Islands of Adventure there is the Dr. Suess section, but it is only one small section compared to all of Disney. There is something for everyone at every park in Disney. The obvious choice is the Magic Kingdom. I will tell you a quick story. My daughter was just 4 the first time we took her to Disney. We stayed at the All-Star Movies resort, where she found a small playground while we were checking in. Our room was not quite ready so they stored our bags and we hit the parks (as we always do.) She had a fit, thinking we were leaving Disney. She complained on the bus all the way to the park. As we got closer and she could see Cinderella's castle and Space mountain she got very quiet. We walked through the turnstyles and were standing at the end of Main Street U.S.A., and I looked at her and said, "Katie, welcome to Walt Disney World." She looked at me and smiled and said, "Dad, whe don't have to go back to the playground if you don't want to." I will remember that day as long as I live. Disney is the most magical place on earth for reasons like that. There is tons to do in Disney for every age, especially toddlers and the little ones. Take her to Fantasyland on It's a Small World, the Dumbo ride, The Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan's flight. Then you can go to Tomorrowland and hit the rides there like Buzz Lightyear, the Monster's Inc. Laugh factory, and the Tomorrowland Speedway. There is also Mickey's Toontown fair to explore for the little ones as well as parades and other rides. If you are going more than one day to Disney, the only park that she may be bored in is EPCOT, otherwise check out MGM and Animal Kingdom too. Not only are there tons of rides and attractions for your daughter, but don't forget meeting the characters, including Mickey himself! In fact if you have not already, I always recommend to anyone going to Orlando to try to stay on-site if possible. Disney service is second to none and they really take care of their resort guests! Have a great trip! For more info I would check out two sources. First, go to the Disney website at www.waltdisneyworld.com. There is a description of each attratction and ride, you can decide for yourself what you want to see. Also, check out the disboards. The disboards is a message board site devoted to people going to WDW. There is so much info there your head will spin. You can get tips for attacking the parks, and ask questions about just about anything Disney, and then get answers from people who are Disney fanatics and know what they are talking about. Hope this helps!! Source(s): Disney Vacation Club member http://www.disneyworld.com http://www.disboards.com Other Travel Tips Disney is better for a child this young. There will be more rides and characters for kids this age. Universal is a little more grown up. Also if you go in Sept. right after school starts it won't be so crowded. definately Disney. the Magic Kindom to be more specific. it has more kid friendly rides, and charaters that kids are familiar with Definitely Disney. Universal is more of a place for.. Teenagers? I went to Universal a couple years ago with my family. My sibs and I are all over the age of 13.. The rides are roller coasters... I don't think they'd even let a two year old anything there.. Disney is the way to go. The atmosphere is amazing. Especially if you're with your kids. Well, you can certainly pull up each web site and see what you think of each. I tried both with my kids and Disney seemed to go over better with all of them. We also did Knott's Berry Farm too and it was actually better than Disney as far as for the kids. You could always take baby to LegoLand to assure baby has interaction. Enjoy your vacation, no matter where you go! wait till summer is over and go to disney. |
