We're going to Universal Studios Orlando in July. Should we do both parks or just one? |
Travel Info I have 3 children 17, 15, & 12. Can we get through Universal Studios in one day or should we do two day and also try to do the Islands of Adventure? I really need some help here. Thanks in advance! Travel Tips I would choose one, that way you won't be checking your watch every 15 minutes and be unable to enjoy yourself. You should have your family decide on a park and spend the whole day there. There's plenty to do so i guarentee you won't get bored. You should be able to have a better time that way. Others both. in which ever order you want, you're family will not regret it. do one, then stay the night, then do the other. Tips on the hotel: Hard Rock Hotel is open, that's a good one. I stayed at the Sheraton hotel. Its like this retro cylindrical hotel, each room has a good view. From the room I was in with my family (forgot the room number) we could see both Univeral parks. Good thing about Hard Rock Hotel is that its right next to the parks. But It might be loud at night i dunno, just guessing. Being the Hard Rock Hotel and all. I live in FL and those two parks should be fun for all the ages in your family. Islands of adventure is more of a modern generation. More adrenaline is there. In the old one, you have the MIB: Alien Attack ride which is a blast! You shoot the aliens while in a spinning car. And there's also the original movie rides: Twister, Terminator, King Kong. Flinstones, Earthquake (is the best!) and we can't forget Back To the Future. I think they took out Jaws the last time I was there. They may have put it back tho I dunno. Island of Adventure. wow! the name says it all. Roller coasters (one in particular, the HULK. SO FUN!!! there's also twin dragons: two roller coasters intertwining each other), thrill rides (like Dr. Dooms free fall) famous Marvel comic characters rides like the Spiderman ride which I heard was fun. It was a long time ago so I don't remember if I rode it. LoL. I recommend Poseidon's Fury, its this greek god of the sea fighting all these mysitc gods. kind of like a walk thru show. You get to walk thru this tunnel of water which is cool. I'd go on and on about it because I live here in FL and I love all the theme parks. I've been to almost all of them in my lifetime. T r u s t a floridian, your family will love "park-hoppin" It was so long ago, I don't remember all the rides but you'll have such a blast! Don't forget to walk down International Drive for some souveneirs if you're not from Florida. Well who cares if you're not, I still get souveneirs anyway! :) hope this helps! well, some things to consider: are you staying in Florida for more than a week? do you have enough money or don't mind spending alot for this trip? Are there other things you're planning to do while you're there? Have you been to Universal Studios before (not in Orlando)? If I remember correctly, one of the Universal Studios park is very very similar to the one in CA. here's a list of the rides i remeber (this was about 5 yrs ago so things might've changed): - hulk rollercoaster ride - twin dragons rollercoaster, - spiderman adventure ride - back to the future ride - jurassic park water ride i can't remember after that, but i'd suggest trying to find a map of the park online as well as the lists of shows and performances for both parks. in fact, here's a map of one of the parks i think (source link). or google it up. Once you decide and answer the questions posted above, if you answered that you can attend both parks, ask your kids if they want to. if yes, i'd suggest do it in two days. It will be tiring, but you'll have one full day to explore one park, while the second to explore the others. make sure you have a lot of rest when you go. hope this helps http://www.universalorlando.com/usf_map.... You'll be able to get through Universal in one day, no problem. And you won't regret going to Islands of Adventure also. Personally, I think one or two of the IoA 'islands' need better rides but the good rides that are there, are some of the best in Orlando. We've been able to do both parks in one day (and you really do have to see both). I find that many of their rides are more thoroughly done than Disney's. Also - make sure that you get the VIP pass - it allows you to get in the express line for every ride once (more if they aren't keeping track). Hulk, Spiderman, The Mummy, Jurassic Park, and any of the water rides are absolute musts!!! |
