Travel Info Is orlando nice compared to miami? pros & cons? Travel Tips Orlando is much cheaper than Miami. Miami has the college crowd with South Beach, where Orlando has a lot more families. I'm not sure what else you're looking for to compare. Others Hmm... Orlando has traffic, Disney, Universal Studios, and expensive because it is a tourist town. Both have downtowns. Can't say much re: Miami though, sorry. Frequent Orlando traveller. They are both very smiliar cities. In general, both have a large population, heavy traffic, high crime areas, etc.. However, Orlando is more family-friendly and tourist based while Miami is less family-friendly and more geared towards the adult crowd. Do not be mistaken though, Orlando also offers many adult activities and popular nightlife. I would recommend Orlando which has much more to offer for visitors of all ages. yeah I've only been to Florida twice, once in Miami, once in Orlando, both within the last year. Miami is definitely more for the older crowd and probably not the best place to go with those under 21. The nightlife is good, although EVERYTHING is expensive. I relied on cabs which is pricey, but I would never drive there... too crazy (and I drive in NYC regularly) Orlando is nice, although traffic is pretty bad there too. There is enough to do with the family, and its location in the middle of the state makes trips to either coast pretty painless. Unlike Miami, I didn't feel like I was getting taken for a ride in areas like dining out, but the nightlife was definitely not as centralized. The hotel rates were FAR more reasonable too. |
