The Atlantic hurricane season is from June 1st thru November 30th.

However, a subtropical storm formed off the coast of Florida just a few weeks ago, ahead of the start of the season -- not to mention the storms that formed after November 30th a few years ago.

Tropical storms with winds over 74 MPH are called "hurricanes" only in the Atlantic basins and the eastern north Pacific. The north Atlantic season starts June 1, and the eastern north Pacific season starts May 15. They end November 30 but there have been occasional storms into the new year (most recently the north Atlantic season of 2 years ago). There has been only 1 hurricane and two other tropical storms in the history of the south Atlantic and so no official season is recognized.

Right now basically until about November.
NOAA predicted 13 to 17 Named Storms, 7-10 which are hurricanes, 3-5 major.

but after August, they usually slow down.
July and august are when you would have the most storms.
id take caution if you are oceanside during a hurricane watch or advisory.
June 1- November 30. As a life long resident of the Gulf Coast, this is ingrained in my memory.
