Have you ever rode Expedition Everest in Walt Disney World, Fl?

Travel Info
OK, I have never gone on a rollercoaster before in my life, just cause I am too chicken, but in disney world fl. the ride expedition everest....do you think I would like it? I LOVE Thunder Mountain, but I haven't yet got the guts to ride Space Mountain (by the way, do you think that would be good for me to ride?) well, I have watched videos of Expedition Everest and I can do it all up to the point where you go backwards, I read it goes 40 mph, and then you go down a GI-normous hill.....I'm am nervous to ride it...should I be?

Travel Tips
i am also a chicken when it comes to roller coasters-- and this one does look a bit intimidating when you see it because it is soo spectacular, you also see a car racing out of the mountain with lightning bolts, but i will tell you now, as much as intimidating as this ride looks, it isn't really that bad-- more fun. when you get on, you stay on the ground, and just turn a bit. then you start going up a really steep hill. but it isn't that bad...because you then just go down a little hill, like on goofy's barnstormers (and thats for youngsters) you then go down a longer hill, but it isn't that steep. also-- this ride doesn't go backwards the whole way down-- you just go backwards for like 2 yards, and then turn around. But they play these loud noises. The most exiting part is when you come around this bend, and it is really cold, and you see the projection of the yeti walking, and then see a quick glimse of the yeti, and go down a hill (this is the one that goes outside) but you curve, so it isn't bad at all. the yeti anamatronic is the 2nd larget in the world, and does look kinda cool, but after that the ride is completely over...and i have to say i enjoyed it, and i even sat in the front seat on easter when it 1st opened, and is was really fun!but you will soon loose your fear when you get into the mountain, and see how low-key it really appears to be. it is just cool because of how real the mountain looks. you will have a ton of fun if you go on it. you can also go to www.youtube.com and type in expedition everest in the search box, and watch videos people took when they were actually on the ride, and none of them are edited. but this will give you an idea about it!! i hoped this helped you out a little!!

Expedition Everest is Big Thunder Mountain Railroad on steriods -- it's much more intense & just "bigger" in every sense of the word.

However -- it's fun. Remember, there's nothing to be scared of. The backwards part is actually my favorite, but it may spook you too much. There is a big hill right at the beginning -- the anticipation will scare you more than the actual drop. From outside of the ride, you can easily see all of the outside up-and-down portions of the ride, so watch it a few times before you settle on what you want to do.

Whatever you decide: have fun!
LOVE that ride! Went to Animal Kingdom a month ago for my son's birthday. went on it twice. there is NOT a big hill. yes you go backwards but its a lot of fun. on space mountain-it just feels scarier b/c its in the dark. not a bad ride at all.
I would try Space Mountain before you did EE! I'm not a big roller coaster person, but Space Mt. does not bother me at all. In reality, the ride only goes about 30 MPH, but it feels faster because it is in the dark. Try Space first, and then try Everest- take baby steps! My hubby went on Everest last year, and almost puked! I didn't try it after that, but I think I will this year.
I have. I would rate it in the category of Big Thunder Mountain. It's a little bigger and a little faster and you do go backwards for a few seconds but it's really great.
Expedition Everest is the best ride of all four parks. I rode it 4 times it was awesome! If you rode Big Thunder Mountain you can ride Everest.
I am not a hill person at all. I love Thunder Mountain, and really love Space Mountain. Like other answerers said, Space Mtn. is more about the darkness and not knowing what is coming.
I rode all the mountains (Big Thunder, Space, Splash, Exp. Ev.) this past February and I can say that Expedition Everest is the fastest, but not scary. Space Mountain has more of a thrill factor because of being in the dark, and Splash Mountain definitely has more of a hill.
The drops on Expedition Everest are almost nothing. Not enough to give you that "catch" in your stomach that other roller coasters do. That being said, when you get off Expedition Everest, you definitely feel "shook up". I don't know how to describe it. Not sick, not dizzy, just like you have been on a great ride.
I would try it. Try not to be scared. I was scared the first time I rode it and couldn't enjoy it. The second time was definitely much better because I had my eyes open and knew that no big hill was coming.
It is fun.
