How do toll roads work in Orlando, do you stop & pay or just drive by ?

Travel Tips
If you are going to visit Orlando, just stop and pay the toll. Tolls vary from twenty-five cents to one dollar. It is possible to find one for a little more.

As posted previously, not all toll booths are manned, so carry plenty of change. You may find yourself at a toll booth that is unmanned, you have no change and there's a gate that only opens when money is deposited.

If you are going to live in Orlando and drive mostly Orlando toll roads, the 408, 417 or 429 you will want to purchase an E-Pass. This is a transducer that allows you to by-pass toll booths, if there's a by-pass. You also get a discount on certain toll roads at certain times of the day.

A Sun-Pass is for driving toll roads that are administered by the Florida Department of Transportation, not the Orlando Expressway Authority. The Sun-Pass, like the E-Pass, costs twenty-five dollars, then you register it either online or by phone. At that time you set up a prepaid account with a credit card or direct access to your bank account. You provide an amount, usually twenty-five dollars, up front, then as your account balance goes down, they charge your credit card or bank for additional funds. The twenty-five dollars you spent purchasing the Sun-Pass or E-Pass does not pay for any tolls. It's for the transducer only.

The Sun-Pass provides discounts on toll roads all over the state of Florida. It does not provide discounts on Orlando toll roads. Source(s): 65 year Florida resident

sometimes theres a place where U just stop and throw in the money somethimes theres a person there to give the money too or if you need change if you have a Sun pass you just drive through where the lane is for a sunpass But you usually don`t have this inless you live in Fla or come to Fla alot..A sunpass is a defice you put in your window to go through the tolls you have to put money on them and it takes it off everytime you go through a toll
Most of them have the 'new' style toll, where folks with transponders just drive and never stop. The reader is on a poll strung above in the air. Those paying cash have to pull over to the 'old-fashioned' toll booths. You can usually 'goof up' twice before they send a ticket.
ok so you are driving on the highway and you come to a toolbooth. drive up to the window and usually the toll is between 25 cents to a dollar. you should experience at least 2 of these when traveling to and from Orlando. Just remember not to just drive through, you have to pay

hope i helped
