Walt Disney had kept the plans for a second theme park in Florida under wraps so that the land prices would not go up, he could buy a lot of land, and that cheezy motels and such would not set up close to the park. But eventually, word got out. Disneyland opened in 1955 and Walt Disney World opened 1971, so I'd say somewhere in between there, most likely mid 1960's. |
